Basse Lumière is an exhibition space dedicated to still and moving images.
Basse Lumière aims to be eclectic, open and curious. While the site presents the creations of artists, the idea is also to offer works in very concrete physical spaces, exhibition spaces that are posted or less conventional spaces, intimate, private, public, diverted from their primary use, etc. …
That the digital can lead to the material experience of the work is a central and important point of the project. To ‘synchronise’ one with the other, to postpone, to superimpose? The modes of exchange between the real and the digital space are in themselves a space to be questioned, with devices to be devised according to the intentions formulated.
Basse Lumière is also a publishing project, with a publication of the creations exhibited over a given period, which will be published regularly and offered for sale on this website.
Finally, it is important to bear in mind that each image, whether still or animated, published on this site is done so with the permission of its creator and is the exclusive property of that creator. By its very nature and as a creation, it is subject to copyright and Basse Lumière can in no way freely dispose of it or negotiate its distribution. Each artist is and remains the full owner and responsible for his or her creation, and only he or she can negotiate its distribution, sale or use.
