Philippe FONTES,
Jérôme MONTAGNE
ULTRA-VIOLET

Ultra-violet is an improvised low-fi audiovisual performance with a wild, minimal aesthetic: energised UV tubes and connectors that pop in and out of a mixing desk.

Jérôme Montagne‘s instrument is a mixing desk looped around itself. Frequencies, white noise and binary rhythms become part of an improvised abstract form, with the machine revealing its secret sonorities in a climate of tension, electricity and silence.

Philippe Fontes‘s only instrument is a multi-socket with a switch that controls the lighting of 8 UV tubes. Sudden, rapid pulses of the switch cause the tubes to be switched on at random.
